The Wake Tech Apprentice Program takes getting paid to train to the next level. On top of getting paid starting your first day, you will receive a diploma from Wake Tech Community College in Construction and Equipment Systems Technology, as well as the possibility of a full-time job at the completion of the program dependent on performance.
Program Details:
Get paid from Day 1 as a part-time Gregory Poole employee.
Tools are provided.
Earn a diploma in Construction Equipment Technology.
Take your skills outside the classroom with GP Academy’s apprenticeship at Wake Tech. In this program, you’ll follow the Wake Tech semester schedule. During the fall and spring semesters, you’ll attend classes at Wake Tech on Mondays and Tuesdays, and work in the shop at Gregory Poole Wednesday-Friday. During the summer semester, apprentices attend classes on Monday only and work in the shop Tuesday-Friday.
The Wake Tech Apprenticeship is best suited for students hoping to earn a diploma in a college setting while simultaneously building part-time practical skills to prepare them for a transition to a full-time career. Apprentices may also use this program as a stepping-stone for continuing education, opting to return to Wake Tech for an associate’s degree outside of Gregory Poole’s sphere of program coverage.
Work on equipment in the construction, lift, power generation, and marine industries while covering a training curriculum that includes electrical, powertrain, basic engine, hydraulics, and more.
The Wake Tech Apprenticeship Program is accredited by ApprenticeshipNC sponsored by WakeWorks, meaning that apprentices who complete all required documentation are exempt from tuition and fees, with the exception of retake classes or courses outside the prescribed 41 credit hour course plan. Train with a program that emphasizes quality education, affordability, and hands-on learning.
